Roland Jaime Orzabal

Born Raoul Jaime Orzabal de la Quintanna on August 22, 1961 Roland is the band's principle song writer, lead guitarist, and vocalist.  Roland's mother changed his name two weeks after he was born so that he would have a more english sounding name.
He formed Tears For Fears with his childhood friend Curt Smith from 1980 to 1991 when Curt Smith left the group.

Roland currently lives in London with his wife Caroline and his two sons Raoul and Pascal.

Curt Smith

Born on June 24, 1961 Curt is the principle song writer, bassist, synthasizer player, and vocalist for the group from 1980 untill 1991 when creative differences broke up the act.

When Curt was a teenager he was running ever so close to juvenile delinquency.  He was getting into fights, stealing things, and just general mischief that he equates to "teenaged stuff."

In 2001, 11 years after they broke up, Roland's manager managed to track down Curt in Los Angeles where he was living with his second wife Frances, and his daughters.  He encouraged Curt to have dinner with Roland.

Hesitant at first Curt then decided to give TFF another shot.

Currently Curt lives in Los Angeles with Frances and his daughters D and W.  He became a naturalized U.S. citizen in August of 2007.  He recently released a solo album called Halfway Pleased.

As for me? I might just as well tell you a little about myself.

As a child growing up in the 1980s I loved the music of the time.  Everything from synth rock to pop, and even a little bit of heavy metal that was a sign of the times.  But no other band captured my interest like Tears For Fears did.

I suppose you could say that TFF was the first band that ever really appealed to me with Roland's weird contorted dance moves, and Curt's voice they transcended the era of the 80s and opened doors for other synth pop acts.

I guess I was a fan since I was a little squirt and now that I'm a big squirt that really means something to me.  It means something to me that others may find to be hard to understand.
